Walk Off The Earth – First Performer Announcement for MusicFest 2018
VI MusicFest announced today that musical phenomenon Walk Off The Earth will perform at MusicFest on Friday, July 13, 2018.
“WOTE was the biggest surprise hit we’ve had at the Festival,” says Doug Cox, MusicFest Artistic Director. “Our younger audience certainly knew who they were before they arrived at the Festival but the band quickly won over the hearts and ears of our entire audience. They are a great fit for our Festival and we’ve had more requests to bring them back than any band we’ve ever had at MusicFest.“
“When we heard the Vancouver Island Music Festival was looking for a headliner in 2018, we were very excited that we would get to play there again,” said Walk off the Earth founder Gianni Luminati Nicassio. “We had such a good time 5 years ago. The island is beautiful, the people beyond friendly, the fishing amazing and it was my first son Giorgio’s first ever concert.”
“Vancouver Island will always hold a special place in our hearts,” added lead vocalist Sarah Blackwood, whose performance on the Island in 2013 was her first after birthing Giorgio just two months prior.
Early Bird priced tickets are on sale now until March or when 1500 passes are sold. Weekend passes are $175 adult/$165 seniors/$109 youth/free for kids 12 and under – available at islandmusicfest.com
